Fraxel Dual

What is it?

The Fraxel Dual 1550/1927 Laser is utilised to provide selective treatments for both resurfacing and superficial pigmentation. It targets the face, chest, arms, hands, upper back and leg areas to improve skin appearance.

The Fraxel Dual Laser is for the treatment of:

  • Acne scarring
  • Age spots
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Crow’s feet
  • Droopy eyelids
  • Enlarged pores
  • Melasma
  • Sagging skin
  • Skin discolouration
  • Wrinkles
  • Rough skin
  • Uneven skin tones

How it works?

The microscopic laser columns breakthrough deep into the skin to accelerate the body’s remodelling of collagen. The surrounding tissue is left intact, promoting a quick recovery. The treatment resurfaces the skin by stimulating the growth of healthy skin.

What to expect?

After the first 24 hours of treatment, the patient may experience a sunburnt skin sensation, with a pink or red appearance. The skin naturally bronzes within 2 weeks, and this appearance continues to occur after each repeated treatment. The sunburnt skin flakes exfoliate regularly, and it is appropriate to use a suitable moisturiser to reduce the appearance of dry and flaky skin. The implementation of basic skin care practices after treatment is essential. These include applying sunscreen of SPF 30, avoiding direct sun exposure for at least for 3 months after treatment and wearing appropriate clothing when outdoors, e.g. a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses. An effective treatment plan is conducted over 3 to 5 sessions and spaced 4 weeks apart.

The results?

The results are progressive, with ideal improvements. The timeframe and treatment structure allows for complete healing to occur, the production of new collagen, and elastin to replace damaged tissue.
